Temporary Portable Rumble Strip.
Our patented temporary rumble strips provide an audible warning when approaching a road works zone. They are safe for use by all road user groups and under various conditions on asphalt surfaces.
This is NOT a temporary speed bump. Drivers do not need to reduce speed specifically to cross the strips; instead, road users receive a harmless yet distinct audible and vibratory warning when entering the work zone.
The product has been thoroughly tested and used for many years in the United States, France, and Switzerland.
The strips are placed freely on the asphalt surface without anchoring. When driven over, or even during braking on the strips, there is virtually no movement. The strips can be anchored if they are intended to remain in the same location for an extended period.
The strips can be deployed manually by hand or mechanically using the RAPTOR deployment system. In Switzerland, the use of rumble strips as an advance warning in front of crash cushion trucks is mandatory when closing a lane on motorways.
Via Nordic has developed a dedicated colour scheme adapted to Norwegian conditions. The strips are black with a 10 cm wide white stripe, making them visually similar to conventional transverse rumble strips.
